 Professor [Oguma Eiji](https://www.sfc.keio.ac.jp/faculty_profile/en/list/PM/eiji-oguma.html) (Keio University, Japan) presents his paper, "The indigenization of the concept of race in modern East Asia: What was/is *minzu* (民族)?" [Joshua Freedman](https://fairbank.fas.harvard.edu/profiles/josh-freedman/) (Harvard University) will discuss.
