 Professors [Arunabh Ghosh](https://history.fas.harvard.edu/people/arunabh-ghosh) (Harvard University) and [Taomo Zhou](https://blogs.ntu.edu.sg/taomozhou/) (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) discuss their ongoing work to reframe China's Reform and Opening as a process of transnational knowledge production, paying special attention to dam building and the construction of special economic zones in the 1970s. [Kelvin Ng](https://history.yale.edu/people/kelvin-ng) (Yale University) will briefly respond; all attendees are warmly invited to participate in the discussion of Professors Ghosh and Zhou's early ideas.
