Her interests lie in Citizenship and Migration studies and critical work on contemporary discourses and governmentalities. More specifically, her dissertation explores the asylum-seeking process into the United States. Methodologically, she hopes to ground her theoretical and conceptual arguments in empirical realities by using ethnographic methods and interpretivist methodologies. Anna is deeply passionate about working with undergraduate students. Her dedication to teaching was recognized with the UC Berkeley "Outstanding GSI Award". Before starting her PhD, Anna received a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Pompeu Fabra University, spending one year at the University of Chicago, and an M.A. in International Conflict Studies from King's College London. She has also worked for several international organizations and nonprofits in Europe and Latin America, mostly on gender and migration issues.
