His current dissertation project examines popular political discourses on the nation, liberty, and democracy in Cold War-era South Korea. His research interests include the intellectual and political history of modern Korea from the colonial period to the present, particularly in the relationships and interactions among politics, historiography, and collective memory in South Korea during the height of the Cold War.
