Tim Harvey
Haoyu Tian is a graduate student specializing in ethics and political philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Peking University. His research focuses on metaethics and moral psychology, particularly on topics such as free will, moral responsibility, and authoritative normativity. His research interests also include the history of philosophy, with a particular emphasis on interpreting the history of Chinese philosophy and early modern European philosophy through contemporary conceptual devices. Tian’s academic journey is marked by his involvement in several interdisciplinary projects, including programs at Peking University, Fudan University, and Wuhan University, focusing on social thought, early modern political philosophy, classical philosophy, and contemporary political theory. Tim's academic contributions include his forthcoming paper, "Reason-Responsiveness Theories Cannot Survive the Attack of Situationism," in Chinese Analytical Philosophy 2025 by Zhejiang University Press, as well as ongoing research comparing the metaethics of Hobbes and Xunzi.
