Dr. Ming Yin 殷眳 earned her Ph.D. in World History from Shanghai Normal University and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Humanities. Her research focuses on Renaissance papal history, political and intellectual history, and the social and cultural dynamics of early modern Italy.

Her doctoral dissertation, Challenge and Response: A Study of the Catholic Church Reforms under Pope Paul III, provides a detailed analysis of the Catholic Church's reform efforts during the Renaissance. Under her advisor, Prof. Zhou Chunsheng周春生, a distinguished scholar in Chinese Renaissance studies, Dr. Yin examined the intricate interactions between religious, political, and social forces during this transformative period.

During her doctoral studies, Dr. Yin published the article "Virtue: Catholic Humanism in the Consilium de emendanda ecclesia", in which she compared the reformist ideology of Catholic Humanism with the Confucian thought of Dong Zhongshu 董仲舒. The paper explores the similarities in their approaches to constraining imperial and papal authority. Another publication, "Carnival in Rome: The Tension of Pope Paul III's Dual Role Revisited", investigates the practical application of Catholic reformist principles in Renaissance Rome through the lens of everyday life and festival history.

As a postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Yin participated in academic exchange programs at the University of Missouri and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also taught European Intellectual History and Studies in Renaissance History. Dr. Yin remains committed to historical scholarship through interdisciplinary approaches and international collaboration.
